MSC consulted with Medical Advisory Committee and MedicAlert Canada to establish a standard engraving and wallet card protocol for Mastocytosis patients in Canada.  These protocols will help newly diagnosed patients and MedicAlert Canada understand the priorities for managing emergencies related to our disorder.  These protocols enable MedicAlert to advise Paramedics and other Medical Emergency personnel of the correct procedures and cautions to help them save your life, wherever you are in Canada.  Until emergency medical professionals learn about this disorder, having a MedicAlert membership will close this knowledge gap and protect you while guiding those who are trying to save you.

This protocol applies mainly to newly diagnosed patients. As we all learn after years of living with our disorder, we may have alternate or additional details for engraving on MedicAlert emergency identification tags.
